Based on a government mandate sex between unmarried people is forbidden, except for one night of the year.

Imagine if we entered a world where everyone is tagged and the government makes laws that control individual personal freedoms. Now the citizens of America are forbidden to enjoy things we have taken for granted over the years. These changes do offer many positives that help make our society much safer, but does it have a cost? Based on a government mandate sex between unmarried people is forbidden, except for one night of the year. With the day that every single person waits for coming, everyone braces for the all-out crazy journey men and women will have to take to be able to procreate and hope they find someone special.

This adventure begins with everyone preparing for the twelve-hour window where you can meet someone and finally have a premarital encounter. For pizza restaurant owner Owen (Callum Turner), he has plans to meet with his longtime girlfriend (Maya Hawke) and strengthen their relationship, while professional singer for popular medication commercials, Allie (Monica Barbaro), is trying to find her true love partner. Things start off difficult as they navigate through this crazy night for the search for sexual rendezvous and possible long-life relationships.

As Owen tries to understand what he is truly looking for as he meets many fascinating people but trying to escape the craziness, he discovers that his mother, Linda (Molly Ringwald), has plans of her own with close friend and partner (LeVar Burton). Having to turn in many directions he discovers that this night might become one of the longest in his lifetime. On the other hand, Allie continues to find that her choices may be dead ends, and she must figure out who she truly wants to be with.

An interesting, funny, and entertaining search for love has director and writer Will Gluck, on the watch list for romantic comedies. This one is successful, and worth watching as Will finds a way to keep the audience interested in what his characters finally decide. Including some veteran actors, such as Molly, LeVar, help keep the laughs going, while introducing Monica, Callum, and Maya to this type of heartfelt comedy, gives them the necessary opportunity to shine. The cast was hilarious and wonderful as they helped us viewers follow down this path to fondness and excitement.

A cute farfetched quest for people to search for one-night stands, that includes many humorous, passionate, and charming scenes that all come together well. I would recommend this film as a great date night experience that is worth taking your significant other to your local theater for a nice night out.

Final Comment: I based my grade on a well told storyline with a fantastic performance from the talent.
