In the world of music timing is everything and ownership is money. This interesting journey for our main character, who is striving through a difficult way to stardom, is to eventually find his way.

In the world of music timing is everything and ownership is money. This interesting journey for our main character, who is striving through a difficult way to stardom, is to eventually find his way. While our hero is doing the usual, playing the local bars or better yet performing on a wedding circuit, it is just not getting him anywhere. Making things worse for an American who is trying to find the big time through Ireland, finding the chances might be slipping away. Nonetheless searching for the one big hit for some may never happen, but for a star it is a must if you want to remain on top.

Trying to make ends meet, musicians look for any options they can get and for Rick Power (Paul Rudd), lead singer for the Bride and Groove, a wedding circuit band, this is the best option. Teaming up with his long-time friend and lead guitarist, Sandy (Peter McDonald), along with the rest of the members, Binzer (Rory Keenan), bassist, Bernie (Paul Reid), and Kyle (Keith McErlean), they seem to be happy playing cover tunes. It definitely does help having a good rapport with their community, allowing the band to be able to get many upscale gigs.

When the band booked a gig at an Irish castle, for an over-the-top wedding, things began to move in a different direction. Now, Rick has the opportunity to have a late-night jam session with a former boy band member now trying to create a career on his own, Danny Wilson (Nick Jonas). They hit it off and begin to ramble off some familiar tunes until, you got it, Rick decides to play a long-time song that he had in his collection of originals. As you guessed it, things go off on an interesting escapade that leads Danny and Rick dashing into different directions.

This sensational storyline put together by director and writer John Carney, brings you on an adventure through the life of two musicians. John included the many details that can arise when musical talents work cooperatively and express their skills. He also included many familiar hit songs throughout the film and some beautiful originals that Carney wonderfully enriches the experience with these incredible new hits. With this quietly promoted gem, he may have just found a motion picture that might see some awards come early next year. Along with the amazing and realistic performance from the stars, Paul and Nick put on a display that is definitely memorable.

Entertainment in every direction, with outstanding sounds and experiences that develops into a fantastic conclusion. This masterpiece is worth exploring and seeing the rabbit hole it places you down to find out what actually happens.

Final Comment: I based my grade on the marvelous narrative along with the magnificent presentation from the cast.
