This wonderful continuation from Nintendo’s Super Mario Brothers gaming domain has now successfully released its second feature. This version starts off strong and brings you into their world even further, giving us a chance to see their creation and the many different characters it possesses. Traveling through this exploration challenges our heroes to save everyone again, against a new foe and a familiar one, allowing us to experience a funny adventure that gives us a new perspective into this animated cosmos.
Now living in the kingdom of the Mushrooms, Mario (Chris Pratt), a plumber originally from Brooklyn and Luigi (Charlie Day), his younger brother, serve as protectors to Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy), the ruler of the land, and her followers. During their many escapades saving the citizens, they meet and befriend Yoshi (Donald Glover), a green dinosaur-like creature, who quickly becomes one of the team. Together they all vow to keep Princess Peach safe and find themselves on a journey through outer space, exploring cosmic worlds and tackling galactic challenges across the universe.

Roaming through the star system on a planet like spaceship, Princess Rosalina (Brie Larson), the adoptive mother of the Lumas, finds herself in danger when she is attacked by Bowser Jr. (Benny Safdie), Bowser's son and Prince of the Koopas, in an attempt to conquer the galaxy and locate his father, Bowser (Jack Black), the King of the Koopas and current prisoner of Princess Peach. With help from Kamek (Kevin Michael Richardson), a Magikoopa serving as Bowser's advisor and informant, they have built an empire that could destroy any planet it comes in contact with. When the news breaks out Princess Peach and her trusty companion Toad (Keegan-Michael Key), a mushroom hero from the first film, travel through the portal in hopes of rescuing Princess Rosalina.
As they cruise through this voyage they meet many different individuals, such as, the Honey Queen (Issa Rae), the ruler of the Honeyhive Galaxy, Wart (Luis Guzmán), an alien frog, and Fox McCloud (Glen Powell), the protagonist from Nintendo's Star Fox series and leader of the Star Fox team. McCloud becomes an important help for Princess Peach and Toad, as they attempt to locate this horrific minded enemy.
This animated imaginative story directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, does an excellent job presenting the Mario video game galaxy on the big screen. Their expansion on the original storyline brings us further into our characters' realm. They included outstanding special effects throughout the film using spectacular Computer-Generated Imagery that presented this arena perfectly. The voice cast fit each personality and helped drive the script forward allowing for a good flow through their quest.
Another fun expedition for the family, and the kids will be sure to thank you for bringing them to see their favorite champions fight their villains. Now all you have to do is buy your favorite refreshments and watch it in one of the available releases, IMAX, Dolby, or standard.

Final Comment: I based my grade on an enjoyable tale, and a fantastic cinematic presentation.
