Apex Who Will Survive

Becoming a thrill seeker, for those that want to conquer what the earth challenges us to accomplish and prove our worth to mother nature. Reaching the Apex of the highest and most complicated Mountains, overcoming wild and dangerous terrains is what these daredevils live for and must achieve. What they never expect is, will they endure when they become the hunted and must stay alive in the place they want to master.

Trying to climb the highest peaks and overcome the many obstacles that they confront, Sasha (Charlize Theron), a rock climber and Tommy (Eric Bana), her husband, make their many adventures intensely breathtaking. Making their newest journey a trip to Norway, to scale the Troll Wall, ends up putting a strain on their lives that might make it impossible to come back from. This event involves several nights to complete and also requiring them to camp on the side of this massive rock structure, will give you a rush of adrenaline, as you wonder how these two can sleep suspended at these high altitudes. This undergoing gives them a test that they both may not return from, forcing a future that leads the survivor into another quest they must withstand.

Needing some time alone and having to fulfill her adrenaline desires, Sasha is drawn toward the Wandarra National Park in Australia. This rugged area is one of the treacherous places in the world and her need is much stronger than ever. It's here where she meets Ben (Taron Egerton), a popular local tracker who appears to be the most qualified guide this part of the world has to offer. Not a trusting person, Sasha only asks for directions to the Grand Isle Narrows. Since Ben seems to be the most normal person at the outfitters shop, she asks him for directions and in return Ben gives her the choice of the easy way or the most rewarding option that is starting from Blackwater Bay.

Creating the fight for survival style of movies can be difficult for most to realistically develop. Having to film these hazardous challenges for these characters and filming them to look so real can be very demanding, but for director Baltasar Kormákur, he makes it look easy. The special effects, camera angles, and computer-generated images (CGI), can make or break a motion picture, and having to get it right was successfully mastered, by Baltasar. Also, the realistic performance from both Charlize Theron, and Taron Egerton was superb, and made this experience worth watching.

This fun film is worth spending the time to watch and enjoy the escapade through the wonders of this new domain. Bringing you on a journey through the jungle, down the rivers, and ascending up the caverns to eventually find safety, for our hero. Definitely an enjoyable watch that will entertain the many viewers that will ascertain this needed encounter.

Final Comment: I based my grade on the exciting and exhilarating exploits through the rivers, mountains, and dense forests of Australia, including the outstanding performance from the cast, and the fantastic cinematography to make everything seem real.
