The film brings to the forefront a battalion of black United States soldiers that fought in World War II showing the bravery, pride and dedication of one of the War’s greatest military units. Aptly called the “Black Panthers” the men of the unit pushed forward under unbearable odds. Based on true events of the 761st tank battalion, Come Out Fighting is a tribute to this little known fighting machine. Nicely filmed and filled with action throughout, the movie is a must see.
The war on French soil is in full motion as US Army fighters get tested by the powerful Nazi military armed with modern tanks and aircraft. On a mission to take out a train with German supplies, two US flyboys in combat planes find themselves accomplishing their goal only to get shot down. In the meantime the Black Panthers have advanced forward under the command of General George Patton. Being close to the action as back up, a request for a minefield clearer is made to the Panthers and their top technician, Sergeant AJ McCarron (Michael Jai White), gets asked to clear a mine discovered in the track of the all-White military.

When a fight between the Nazis and the US Military breaks out, McCarron gets separated from the fighting and finds himself alone. Not going to leave a member of the Black Panther squad without help, the search begins during the one of the worst battles of the war. Director Steven Luke uses all his available production equipment, develops a fine cast, and makes the war and the story come to life in an exciting hour and a half. Realistic and provoking the film honors the Black Panthers for their gallant bravery that was little know up to now. For his first directorial outing, it’s a huge winner.
Come Out Fighting has not been rated by the MPAA, but contains realistic war violence, and language throughout. Whether you are a war movie fan or not, this film should be recognized for its heroism and contribution to the US Military during WWII.

“Men, you’re the first Negro tankers to ever fight in the American Army. I would never have asked for you if you weren’t good. I have nothing but the best in my Army. I don’t care what color you are as long as you go up there and kill those Kraut sons of bitches. Everyone has their eyes on you and is expecting great things from you… Don’t let them down and damn you, don’t let me down!”… General George S. Patton (Ryan Mattimore, https://www.history.com/news/761st-tank-battalion-black-panthers-liberators-battle-of-the-bulge)
