Usually when you go to see a movie about racing most people either love them or not. Being into these types of films you must have a love for speed and going fast, but this journey has more than just fast cars and doing what it takes to win, it has a backstory that helps lead into the final conclusion. Now, imagine yourself driving that formula one vehicle, being right there on the road, and about to take on other very talented drivers. When you begin to start making those real sharp turns going over 200 miles per hour, flying by every marker, and driving through all sorts of danger, your encounter becomes real.
This expedition includes Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a roaming competitor-for-hire who hasn’t been part of the formula one (F1) circuit for over thirty years, since his horrific crash. Running from one type of racing to another, Sonny loves the feeling behind the wheel and looks to be the best every time he is on the track. When he is approached by an old-time friend and former teammate, Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of the Apex Grand Prix team (APXGP), he is offered an opportunity to drive for them.
Once he joins the team, he meets his rival and teammate Joshua "Noah" Pearce (Damson Idris), the team's new rookie, who tries at every turn to flash his talents. On the mechanical side of the team is Kate McKenna (Kerry Condon), the technical director, Kaspar Molinski (Kim Bodnia), the principal director, Dodge Dowda (Abdul Salis), the chief mechanic, and Jodie (Callie Cooke), the new rookie mechanic. From the board of directors and close ally to Ruben, is Peter Banning (Tobias Menzies), who is doing what he can to save the club after its disastrous start to the season. Together they are all hoping that they can turn things around and have a chance to save their organization.

Putting together a film that grabs the entire audience for more than two hours takes a real talent, and director and writer Joseph Kosinski shows he has what it takes. Performing this role with the likes of Jerry Bruckheimer producing this project can add some stress, especially since Jerry demands perfection and everything he produces becomes a big hit. This does not slow Joseph down at all. Not only does his storyline line present very well, he also includes outstanding technology and amazing camera work within the vehicle. Kosinski is able to perfectly blend this unique style of camera angles along with this new auto tech to actually help you feel like you are behind the wheel and doing the driving yourself. Giving you a true feeling of the track and to confront what the driver sees on these fast-moving roads.
The performance from the cast was spectacular and seeing Brad Pitt back on screen was truly wonderful. Playing his usual tough suave character, Brad gave us what the picture needed; a mentor to help establish the new sensational newcomer Damson Idris. Adding great performances from Javier Bardem and Kerry Condon, not to mention the rest of the crew who made this ride so successful.
Following this tale brings you on a trip through the formula one realm and allows for you to see the many tracks these gifted athletes travel through. As the voyage continues the stadiums become more and more luxurious, and when they reach the finals, the location is the most extravagant of all. To get the full effect of this adventure you need to experience this in the IMAX format at your local theater.

Final Comment: I based my grade on the exceptional in person experience, the marvelous narrative, and the magnificent presentation of the actors.
