The Minions have been among us since the beginning of time and have no purpose unless they serve a master. Always in search of one to serve, they prefer a villain to follow. Over the years it has been difficult to acquire one that appreciates these types of associates, but these heroes always seem to figure out a way to locate someone to occupy their time.
This adventure closely follows these three Minions (Pierre Coffin), James, Henry, and Joe, who just seemed to find themselves entertaining. Everything the other Minions did amused them and was just plain funny. The other Minions dislike them and would exclude or send them to the back, when possible, in hopes they would eventually follow suit with the others.
One day after moving from one evil genus to another they landed in Hollywood and found the business of the silver screen. This is where James, Henry, and Joe blossomed and they accidentally win the hearts of film director, Max (Christoph Waltz) and production bosses, Frank and Elwood Bright (Jeff Bridges). As they get famous and the style moves from silent to sound the Minions obtain a way to lose their jobs and now have to figure out what they are going to do.

Determined to become a producer, James and Henry, along with Joe, are set out to make their own monster motion picture. Here is where they meet Goomi (Trey Parker), Phillips (Bobby Moynihan), and Howard (Phil LaMarr) and begin their production. While the rest of the Minions meet Dort (Jesse Eisenberg) and Debbie (Zoey Deutch) and slowly split apart.
Like the Despicable Me series, the Minions steal the show as director and writer Pierre Coffin puts together an outstanding historical script that runs us through their lives before and during the early years of film. The storyline is his attempt at a funny quest through these characters' lives leading up to their breakthrough that three of our loveable friends finally get. Coffin gives the main Minions a chance to show their talents on the big screen by making a creature feature style film.
With all the laughs, craziness, and wandering, Pierre develops our hilarious friends to entertain us at every moment. To get the most out of the event, viewing this masterpiece of animation at your local theater is a definite fun time for every family member and worth the cost to experience this all together.

Final Comment: I based my grade on this fantastic story and the excellent cinematic presentation.
Stars 3.5 out of 5
