The sun may have set for the summer, but the creative energy was at an all-time high during Open Mic Industry Night held on September 2. Held at the Friendly Tavern, a beachside bar in Madeira Beach hosted one great night of collaboration, networking, and creative expression, all under the hosts Dane with Chillmore Inc. and Danersworld, RockstarLiiife, and RealFerm Radio capturing the scene.
A Stellar Lineup of Performers
The night was guided by the duo of Chillmore Inc. and RockstarLiiife who not only hosted the event but also livened every minute with their unique creative energies. RealFermRadio, with professional videography and media presence, reaches both the audience and the artists, enhancing the event's awareness and impact. This wasn’t just an open mic; it was an industry night where creators could truly shine, network, and make meaningful connections.
The heart of the night was, of course, the performances. A diverse set of artists took to the mic, each bringing their flavor and style to the stage. Kicking it off with their unique personalities Dane and Rockstar took the floor to set the tone for the night with their Golden Rule: When a creator is up on the stage, RESPECT THE MIC
The set list included:
Dane started the night with a reading of some of his poetry, and if I do say so myself, set up and executed with precision and emotional tug. Attend on September 16 for the opportunity to hear for yourself!
RockstarLiiife energized the event with "Lala," livening the crowd and getting them to sing along. With the Friendly Tavern being a great venue, the stage will never be big enough for RSL to always put on a hell of a show for the whole bar. (Social Media: @RockstarLiiife)
Mz Colorado is a cover artist who captivated the audience with her style renditions. (Social Media: @UMG.MzColorado)

Adding to the night's excitement, Authentik made a guest appearance, and excited audience member Kevin, alongside RockstarLiiife, performed a newly created R&B collaboration that left the crowd anticipating future projects.
The event wrapped itself up with a collaborative cipher, featuring all the artists in a spontaneous showcase of skill and creativity. The energy in the room was evident, and it was clear that everyone was there to respect the mic uplift one another, and support each other's careers.
Hosts with the Most
What set this open mic apart was its focus on collaboration and growth rather than competition. This was not a tournament but a space designed for creators to practice, receive feedback, and grow. The audience played a crucial role in this process, offering peer review and progressive feedback that helped artists refine their craft.
The night also offered tangible rewards for the most impressive performers. Three winners were announced, each receiving unique prizes that would further their careers: an hour at BoomBoomRoom Prod by RSL, a radio play in Cincinnati, OH, on the Litty Committee broadcasted by Busy1Radio, and featured interview opportunities by RealFerm Radio.
Looking Ahead
This open mic event was not a one-off occurrence. Hosted biweekly, these industry nights on Gulf Blvd have become a staple for creators looking to hone their skills in front of a live audience. For those who missed this event, the next opportunity to experience this creative haven is just around the corner.
Meeting Dane and Rockstarliiife after hearing about their new collaborative event
and getting to experience it, Open Mic Industry Night held their integrity to the power of community and creativity and they show commitment to continuing to provide a safe and supportive space for artists to express themselves, receive feedback, and master their skills. If you’re a creator looking to grow, network, and get feedback on your work, these open mic nights are the perfect platform. They’re free to enjoy and participate, with the only rule being to respect the mic, a rule that fosters a collaborative environment where everyone can thrive.
